Gas Station on Putney Road Reopens with New Ownership

The station is now ExPress Fuel Service and aims to provide full-service fueling along with competitive pricing for gas. 

The gas station situated on Putney Road, close to the Windham County Courthouse, has resumed operations after nearly two years of being vacant. Under new ownership, the station is now called ExPress Fuel Service and aims to provide full-service fueling along with competitive pricing for gas. 

This Brattleboro location is significant as it represents the company's first expansion beyond Massachusetts. A manager at the site indicated that the family-owned business originally launched with a single station and has since grown to five locations, with plans for further expansion in the near future.

Management decided to open in Brattleboro after recognizing local market opportunities. The demand for full-service gas stations remains, particularly among those who prefer not to pump their own fuel. Their intention is to offer these services to meet community needs. 

Plans for the station also include the addition of snacks, beverages, and other convenience products, with Coca-Cola items expected soon. They are currently awaiting a license for the sale of cigarettes. The station will also stock essential automotive supplies like washer fluid and antifreeze.

In addition to fueling services, a mechanic shop is projected for the property, managed by an independent contractor. Work is ongoing to prepare the garage for its future operations.

One of the station's notable advantages is its pricing model. As an independent entity, ExPress Fuel Service can set its own gas prices, which allows for lower rates compared to corporate-branded stations that must adhere to corporate pricing structures. The company's intention is to provide the community with some of the most affordable gas prices available.

In line with their commitment to customer satisfaction, the station will offer the same price for both cash and credit card transactions, ensuring transparency in pricing. The management team prioritizes maintaining a warm and welcoming environment for customers, including plans to treat canine visitors.

Community engagement is also a priority, with aspirations to collaborate with local groups on initiatives such as holiday support for children in need, drawing from successful efforts at their Massachusetts locations.

Although the reopening is still in its infancy, management is optimistic about increasing local patronage and is focused on fostering a friendly, family-oriented atmosphere while exploring options for future growth.
