Further charges against him include burglary, possession of a controlled substance, disobeying an officer, conduct after an accident, and resisting arrest.
A 36-year-old resident of Keene, Robie Fish, has been taken into custody facing an array of charges after a series of events that began with a firearm threat at a shopping plaza. The incident took place on the evening of May 19 when police received reports of a threat involving a gun at Monadnock Marketplace on Ash Brook Road.
Officers located Fish in a vehicle as they attempted a traffic stop, but he chose to evade arrest, leading to a pursuit that concluded on West Street. The chase ended when his vehicle became immobilized after hitting curbing in the parking lot of Mascoma Bank. Fish then attempted to escape on foot, prompting law enforcement to search the area.
As they conducted their search, police were informed of an incident on Elm Street where someone believed to be armed was trying to break into an apartment. Upon arrival, the responding officers identified Fish as the suspect linked to both the firearm threat and the police pursuit.
Fish now faces several charges, including criminal threatening with a firearm, two counts of reckless conduct involving a deadly weapon, and being a felon in possession of a dangerous weapon. Further charges against him include burglary, possession of a controlled substance, disobeying an officer, conduct after an accident, and resisting arrest. He is currently being held at the Cheshire County House of Corrections and is set for arraignment in the 8th Circuit Court–Keene.
The investigation into the event is ongoing, and authorities have indicated that more charges might be added. Assistance during the incident was provided by various agencies, including the Cheshire County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit and New Hampshire State Police. Law enforcement encourages anyone who witnessed either the incident at the shopping plaza or the subsequent escape to contact the Keene Police Department for further information.
Keene residents have also been asked for their feedback on short-term rentals through a city survey, which will remain open until the end of Wednesday.
