Police Search Prompts Route 9 Closure and Shelter-in-Place in Stoddard

Police say the man may be armed and should not be approached.

Authorities shut down Route 9 in Stoddard and told nearby residents to stay indoors while they continue searching for 39-year-old Patrick Allen Boyer, whom police consider dangerous. The shelter-in-place order is centered around Richer Road, and state police sent an emergency alert advising people to lock doors and windows.

New Hampshire State Police say Boyer has been sought since Wednesday night. They reported that he was spotted Thursday afternoon and then fled after a pursuit that moved between Keene and Stoddard. Officers later located his vehicle, but Boyer escaped into a wooded area.

Police say Boyer may be armed and should not be approached. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a white undershirt, and dark pants.

State police say Boyer is facing felony charges, along with criminal restraint and obstructing report of a crime. Route 9 remains closed as the search continues.
