Ronald Cooke remains held without bail after Windham Superior Court arraignment

Cooke has been cited with sexual assault of a child, kidnapping, unlawful restraint, luring a child and furnishing alcohol to a minor.

Ronald Cooke, 58, will stay in custody without bail while facing several charges tied to the alleged kidnapping and sexual assault of a child under 13.

The arraignment took place Wednesday in Windham Superior Court, where the judge ordered him held.

The case stems from a late July investigation by the Brattleboro Police Department after a report of a sexual assault involving a minor at the Colonial Motel on Putney Road. Investigators said the suspect was known as Max, and police identified that person as Cooke based on earlier law enforcement contacts.

Cooke has been cited with sexual assault of a child, kidnapping, unlawful restraint, luring a child and furnishing alcohol to a minor.
