Swanzey's Town Administrator Resigns, New Leadership on Horizon

On May 29, Rautiola formally notified town officials of her resignation.

Lori Rautiola, the Town Administrator of Swanzey, is set to resign from her role as of July 3. Her decision to leave comes after she accepted a new job in the private sector. This change marks the end of a little over a year in which she managed the daily operations of the town.

On May 29, Rautiola formally notified town officials of her resignation. During her brief tenure, she was known for working closely with local staff and officials on various municipal projects and initiatives. Before taking on this role in April 2025, Rautiola was chosen from a pool of more than 20 candidates, with her experience in municipal administration and community engagement being significant factors in her selection.

Jim Tempesta, the Selectboard Chair, acknowledged Rautiola's contributions and expressed gratitude for her service, noting that her presence would be missed. The board is disappointed about her departure but wishes her well in her future endeavors.

In her announcement regarding her departure, Rautiola reflected on her experience and the relationships she built during her time in office. She conveyed appreciation for the various challenges and opportunities she encountered, indicating that they have significantly influenced her growth in both personal and professional contexts.

The Selectboard will soon initiate the search for a new town administrator to ensure a seamless transition in leadership before Rautiola's last day at work.
