Dublin Crash Identified: 1 Dead, 2 Drivers in Critical Condition

Investigators have not yet determined why the vehicle crossed into the opposite lane, and the cause of the crash remains under review.

Authorities in Dublin have identified the people involved in a deadly Tuesday evening collision on Route 137 near Goldmine Road, where one passenger was killed and both drivers were seriously hurt.

The Dublin Police Department said investigators believe a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox driven south by 62-year-old James Picotte of Dublin moved across the centerline and struck a northbound 2017 Mazda 3 driven by 42-year-old Timothy Wilder of Jaffrey in a head-on crash.

A passenger in the Chevrolet, 68-year-old Timothy Sirois of Dublin, died from injuries suffered in the wreck. Picotte and Wilder were flown by UMass LifeFlight to UMass Memorial Medical Center and were listed Wednesday in critical condition.

The collision occurred at about 5:22 p.m. Tuesday and forced Route 137 to remain closed near Goldmine Road for roughly two and a half hours while crews worked at the scene and police began their investigation.

Investigators have not yet determined why Picotte’s vehicle crossed into the opposite lane, and the cause of the crash remains under review.

Multiple agencies assisted at the scene, including the Dublin Fire Department/Rescue, Jaffrey Fire Department, Peterborough Fire Department, Jaffrey Police Department, Marlborough Police Department, Harrisville Fire Department, Gauthier’s Towing and UMass LifeFlight. Harrisville firefighters helped set up landing zones for the helicopters.

Anyone with information or who saw the crash is asked to contact Dublin Police Master Patrolman Brandon Blair at 603-355-2000.
