An elevator malfunctioned causing smoke to appear inside the building.
An alarming incident at the Vermont Statehouse on Thursday morning resulted in the evacuation of a large number of individuals. Smoke appeared within the interior of the building, which was attributed to a malfunctioning elevator that activated the smoke detection system.
Fortunately, there were no reported injuries associated with the event. After a brief period of approximately 20 minutes, the authorities permitted everyone to re-enter the premises. The elevator in question will remain non-operational until repairs are completed.
