In order for the Development Review Board (DRB) to evaluate the proposal for a storage shed at Pettee Memorial Library, it is essential to establish the precise property boundaries. Taryn Lawrence, co-owner of La Casita, a local Mexican restaurant, highlighted concerns regarding the shed’s proposed placement, which encroaches slightly into La Casita’s property. Additionally, Adam Grinold, the owner of neighboring residential land, attended the DRB meeting to express his desire for the development to adhere to the regulatory standards of the historic district.

During the discussion, DRB Vice Chairman John Gannon pointed out the difficulties resulting from the absence of surveys, which has led to uncertainty about property delineations among the library, La Casita, and Grinold's residence. Diane Abate, a member of the DRB, suggested that it would be prudent to clarify the property lines before engaging in extensive discussions regarding design aspects and additional considerations related to the shed.

Cheryl LaFlamme, the chair of the DRB, stated that determining the boundaries is the library's responsibility. Carolyn Palmer, the chairwoman of the library board, indicated her intention to return for the DRB's meeting on May 6 to discuss the matter further.
