Authorities in Vermont are looking into the tragic demise of a skier at Sugarbush Resort. Notifications were received around 3:26 p.m. on Saturday regarding an accident on Stein’s Run, located at Lincoln Peak.
According to officials, the individual, a male, suffered a fall before sliding into a wooded section adjacent to the trail. Ski patrol teams located him unresponsive and transported him to the base of the mountain, where emergency medical personnel from Mad River Valley Ambulance were waiting. Unfortunately, the skier succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Investigators have stated that there is no indication of foul play surrounding the incident. To ascertain the specific cause and circumstances of the death, an autopsy will be conducted at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Burlington. The name of the victim remains undisclosed until family members are informed.
