Windham County Child Advocacy Center Launches Campaign for Child Abuse Prevention Month

Throughout this period, the center is actively seeking donations to fund its complimentary services for individuals affected by sexual abuse.

The Windham County Child Advocacy Center is initiating a spring campaign aimed at raising awareness and support for child abuse prevention during April and May. This initiative invites local businesses, organizations, and residents to participate in activities that promote child safety and awareness.

Throughout this period, the center is actively seeking donations to fund its complimentary services for individuals affected by sexual abuse, regardless of age. Donors can select from a variety of items such as pins, bracelets, keychains, or lawn pinwheels, which are offered at the center's office in Brattleboro. Contributions can be made in any amount, as there is no minimum requirement for donations.

Residents are encouraged to place pinwheels in their yards to foster dialogue about the cause and demonstrate community solidarity. Additionally, individuals can enhance the campaign’s visibility by sharing pictures of their pinwheels on social media while tagging the Child Advocacy Center. Those who prefer not to receive items can still contribute.

In the coming days, the center plans to share images of the items available, a QR code for online contributions, and flyers that can be displayed in various public or workplace settings. The organization is also providing free pins and bracelets to employees who wish to help spread awareness during this dedicated month.

The executive director of the Windham County Child Advocacy Center emphasized that participation is open to everyone interested in making a difference.
