Even with Hathaway now in custody, officials said the case remains active.
Authorities in Epsom arrested Dana Hathaway, 29, on Thursday night after a search that had lasted for weeks, police said.
The arrest came after officers were sent to Highland Drive for a reported fire. Hathaway was taken into custody without incident, according to police, though they did not release additional details about the circumstances.
An Epsom fire official said crews were initially dispatched after a 911 call came in and the caller hung up after mentioning a fire. When firefighters arrived, they found a basement fire that had already been put out. The home did not suffer major damage, the official said.
Hathaway was wanted on a probation violation and a resisting arrest order out of Epsom. Police had first attempted to arrest him in September, but he got away. The search picked up again early last month after officers found several guns in a Gilmanton home that investigators believe were linked to him.
Even with Hathaway now in custody, officials said the case remains active. It was not immediately clear when he would appear before a judge.
Hathaway has a long criminal record, including an allegation that he threatened to kill a Goshen police officer and another incident in which he allegedly tried to take a Manchester officer’s gun.
