Vermont Man Hospitalized After Shooting Incident in Lebanon

Despite a gunshot wound to the abdomen the victim has not been forthcoming with information.

Authorities in Lebanon reported that a 33-year-old man from Vermont was discovered early Thursday morning with a gunshot wound. Emergency services were alerted around 7 a.m., prompting responders to reach Hardy Hill Road, near the overpass of Interstate 89, where they found the injured man.

The victim received medical care for a gunshot injury to his abdomen, which has been classified as non-life-threatening. Despite seeking help, he has reportedly not been forthcoming during the ongoing investigation, raising concerns for the police.

Investigators believe that this could be a specific case isolated from the wider community, reassuring that there is no imminent threat to the public. Police Chief Phillip Roberts noted that initial inquiries indicate it appears to be an isolated occurrence.

The victim recounted to the police that he was walking when he was shot by a passing vehicle. However, no suspect information has been provided yet, and it remains unclear whether he recognizes the shooter. Authorities are examining discrepancies between the man’s initial claims and his later accounts.

In addition to local police efforts, members of the Windsor County Sheriff's Office from Vermont are assisting in interviewing potential witnesses. Lebanon authorities are actively seeking tips and information from the public regarding the matter. Community members with any knowledge are encouraged to contact the Lebanon Police Department or submit anonymous tips through designated channels.
