Troopers reported finding about 247 grams of suspected cocaine.
Vermont State Police say a routine stop on Interstate 91 in Putney led to the arrest of an 18-year-old Springfield, Massachusetts, man after troopers reported finding about 247 grams of suspected cocaine.
The arrest took place Wednesday evening after Trooper Peter Romeo of the Westminster Barracks pulled over a vehicle at about 6:47 p.m. Oct. 14 for a motor vehicle violation, according to a state police news release.
Police said the suspected drugs were discovered during a search of passenger Jexiel O. Tirado. He was then taken to the Westminster Barracks for processing before being lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000 bail.
Tirado was cited to appear Thursday, Oct. 15, at 12:30 p.m. in Windham County Superior Court’s Criminal Division on charges of cocaine trafficking and possession of more than 1 ounce of cocaine.
