Winchester Pickle Festival Set for Saturday in 28th Year

Admission is free, and organizers expect the crowd to top 5,000 people, drawing visitors from across the region and beyond.

Downtown Winchester will once again turn into a pickle-themed celebration on Saturday, September 26, when the 28th annual Winchester Pickle Festival fills Main Street with food, entertainment, games and local vendors.

The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will go on regardless of weather. Admission is free, and organizers expect the crowd to top 5,000 people, drawing visitors from across the region and beyond.

Festivities will get underway with the Pickle Parade, followed by a full day of activities spread across the festival area. Among the featured attractions are the pickle eating competition, the annual canning contest, live music, and a bounce house for children. Food booths and other local vendors will also line the streets.

Parking arrangements include free space at Winchester School on Parker Street, with shuttle service available throughout the day. Additional parking will be offered at the VFW and the ELM Memorial Community Center for a suggested $5 donation. Drivers needing accessible parking may use Town Hall. Parker Street will be closed between Main Street and Union Street during the event.

Organizers are urging attendees to share rides when possible. Pets are allowed if they are leashed or kept in carriers, though planners advise leaving them at home because of the size of the crowds.

With its mix of competition, shopping, music and food, the Winchester Pickle Festival is expected to remain one of the Monadnock Region’s biggest early fall draws.
