After serving readers in the city for more than three decades, Hannah's Books is preparing to close.
The longtime independent shop, which once operated at 146 Emerald St. before moving to 305 Park Ave. in 2022, has been a familiar presence in the Elm City for years. A notice posted Monday on the store’s Facebook page said the business is ending its run after more than 36 years. It also told customers to stop in for books while the remaining stock is available, with plastic grocery bags priced at $5 and store credit not accepted.
The post did not list a specific closing date. Owner Gloria Nethers could not be reached right away for comment.
Gloria Nethers and her husband, Randy, purchased the store in 2019 from former owner Amy Noyes.
